SkinSavers Awards Contest Winners
WARRENTON, VA (PRESS RELEASE) May 15, 2012
SkinSavers, a charity founded by Highland high school junior Camille Smith, raised $1,400 in prize money and awarded it today to the winners of the SkinSavers’ skin cancer awareness video contest. The $1,000 Grand Prize winner was Alexandre Genove, of Leesburg, VA, whose video can be seen on the SkinSaver’s website: http://skinsaversfoundation.org.
Additional winners were:
Katie Frorer of Bryn Mawr, PA,
Erin Herbst of Jeffersonton, VA,
Tara Schoch of The Planes, VA, and
Ian Herbst of Jeffersonston, VA.
SkinSavers, a student-created charity formed to promote skin cancer prevention, posted the money it raised as a prize for the best, student-created YouTube video which promotes skin cancer awareness. The winner was the YouTube video with the largest number of views during a two-month period in the Spring of 2012. Combined the YouTube videos had more than 125,000 views.
